McQuillan Companies is a diverse business operating in several industries. It was founded in 1880 as a quarrying business but has also branched into civil engineering, demolition, waste management, outdoor cleaning and environmental testing.

The challenge was to develop brand language that encapsulated both a proud history and strong focus on the future, as well as unifying the various business areas.

 

After workshop sessions with people from all parts of McQuillan Companies, we were able to build a consensus around the values that underpin the organisation as a whole.

Tying together what at first glance might seem like disparate businesses, we focused on the spirit of enterprise and innovation that was there from day one and continues to lead McQuillan Companies towards new opportunities.

 

A taste of what we wrote

It takes vision, ambition and innovation to look at an empty field and see a quarry. That’s exactly what John McQuillan did when he discovered limestone on his farm on the outskirts of 19th-century Belfast.

Our story starts in quarrying, but we’ve embraced new opportunities in civil engineering, demolition, hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, outdoor cleaning and environmental testing.
